I am honored to be the new ANC Commissioner representing 3F06.
Since buying our first home in this neighborhood fourteen years ago, my wife Dana and I have been deeply committed to the area. Our children, Caroline (10), Melissa (7), and Jamie (3), were born here and are being educated in the neighborhood schools. We love this area and want to see it continue to grow and develop in a positive way.
This means promoting smart growth along the Connecticut Avenue/Van Ness corridor, with attractive mixed-used development and a diversity of quality retail options. It means strong support for all of the neighborhood schools, public and private, and especially for the long-overdue renovations at Murch Elementary. And it means protecting the natural neighborhood, by preserving the quality of our tree-lined streets, our local playgrounds, Rock Creek Park, Soapstone Valley, and Melvin C. Hazen Park.
I moved to Washington from Philadelphia in 1993 and have lived in Wakefield for most of the years since. I earned my bachelor’s degree in International Relations from the University of Pennsylvania and a master’s degree in Public Policy from the Harvard Kennedy School of Government. I work at the U.S. Treasury Department as Senior International Economist focused on developing and emerging market economies.
I am glad to have met so many of the residents of 3F over the years and look forward to meeting many more in the weeks and months to come. I want to hear your ideas for how we can make a great neighborhood even better.
Listening to your concerns is my top priority. Please feel free to send me an email at [email protected] or leave me a voice message at (202) 810-3674.
