One of the joys of walking neighborhood streets and trails is the unexpected encounters along the way.
Here’s just one example: A year ago, our editor-in-chief heard the faint strains of violins while on a hike in Rock Creek Park. Following the sound, she eventually stumbled upon a violin concert at Picnic Grove #13.
You can recreate the experience this Sunday, June 7 when the Violin School of Cleveland Park presents its summer concert at the same location. The performance will begin at 11 a.m.
Pick up some pickleball skills. Van Ness Main Street and the DC Department of Parks and Recreation are partnering this month to provide free demonstrations at the Forest Hills Park tennis courts.
DPR will provide the equipment and know-how over the next three Mondays – June 8, June 15 and June 22 – from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
All ages are welcome.
