For four of the past five years, UDC has shared one corner of its campus with a bunch of grade school kids. The university is getting that space back now.
Workers are removing the trailers that served as swing space during the Murch Elementary and Eaton Elementary modernization projects.
The trailers were installed on the southwestern corner of the campus in June 2016. They would be home to Murch students and staff for the next two years.
In 2019, the trailer complex welcomed Eaton students and staff. Their time on campus was cut short by the pandemic, but by spring, the site was once again alive with the the chatter of happy kids. Come fall, the same chatter will be happening at their newly renovated school, at 34th and Macomb Streets NW.
UDC, meanwhile, plans to reopen its campus this fall to students, faculty and staff who are fully vaccinated.
