From Manolis Priniotakis, ANC 3F05 commissioner and Murch HSA Safe Routes to School chair: On Wednesday, October 9, Murch will again celebrate National Walk to School Day with a number of activities geared toward raising student awareness about safe and healthy ways to get to school. Part of the Safe Routes to School program, the day received a kick-off on September 20, when the students heard about safe pedestrian practices from members of the Murch Safety Patrol during the first all-school assembly of the year.
If you are out and about during the morning on Wednesday, please keep an eye out for students wearing their blue-and-gold colors aboard “walking buses” headed to Murch! Metro police from the 2nd District and Fire/EMS officers from Engine 31 will be on hand to greet them as they arrive at Murch.
