Yes, we said this was about December music, but we’re going to start with a few remaining November performances.

This Friday and Saturday are the final performances of Wilson High School’s Urinetown: The Musical.

Tuesday, November 22nd, we’d encourage you to take a break at lunchtime for a performance of UDC’s small jazz ensembles.

Then, on Tuesday, November 29th, Van Ness Main Street is presenting Jazz@VN at Italian Pizza Kitchen (4483 Connecticut Avenue).

And on Thursday, December 1st, the Embassy of Israel presents its fifth annual concert in memory of Daniel Pearl. It will feature violinist Itamar Zorman.

UDC is gifting us with a lot of the music in December. These performances take place at the UDC Theater of the Arts:

Saturday, December 3rd: Pianist Tomer Gewirtzman performs as part of the Young Concert Artists series at UDC.

Sunday, December 4th: The Attacca Quartet performs selections by Caroline Shaw, Mendelsohn and Beethoven.

Tuesday, December 6th: Baritone Gerhard Gerhaher and pianist Gerold Huber perform as part of the Vocal Arts DC concert series at UDC.

Thursday, December 8th: UDC’s annual holiday concert features the UDC Chorale, the gospel sounds of The Voices and big band jazz. This is a FREE performance.

Our community events calendar lists more activities and events. Happy listening!
