Chick-fil-A’s plans to open new locations in Van Ness and Tenleytown got the DC media’s attention.
Most articles noted the chain’s fried chicken won’t get the warmest of welcomes. The Washingtonian notes: “Former mayor Vincent Gray was vocal about not welcoming the controversial chain – coining the term ‘hate chicken’ – citing the company’s financial support of organizations that oppose same-sex marriage and LGBT rights.”
The Tenleytown location, set to open in the former Payless store, prompted an online protest. (Washington City Paper)
The Northwest Current quotes ANC 3F commissioners who cite concerns about the drive-thru planned at the Van Ness location.
There’s more on the DC media menu than Chick-fil-A, thankfully.
