October 31, 2018 by FHC Leave a Comment

Update: The Wednesday farm stand wrapped up for the season on Wednesday, November 14th and will return in May.

Van Ness Main Street is testing a new concept for Van Ness – a weekday farm stand.

The farm stand at 4250 Connecticut during an October 24th test run.

The farm stand will be open every Wednesday in November from 3 to 7 p.m., and will be located on the plaza at 4250 Connecticut Avenue. It will offer locally grown fresh seasonal produce. It is operated by G. Flores Produce from Hague, Virginia. The farm is also here every Saturday as one of the Van Ness farmers market vendors.

At the November 10th market, the Van Ness UPS store will host a shredding event. Simply bring your documents to the market. The cost is $.99 per pound and all the proceeds will benefit Van Ness Main Street. Watch the VNMS Facebook or Twitter feeds for updates and times. The market itself is open from 8 a.m to 2 p.m.
