The reduced traffic on our roads has allowed DDOT to accelerate repaving projects. Right now, there’s resurfacing work pending or under way on eleven street segments in ANC 3F alone.

The green lines on DDOT’s interactive paving project map are completed streets. Yellow marks work in progress. The red lines are for pending projects, but some had been under way for a few days when we captured this screenshot.
The 0.35-mile segment of Van Ness Street between Connecticut Avenue and Reno Road was recently repaved. And on top of that freshly laid asphalt are freshly painted bike lanes.
The new lanes connect to the Reno Road bike lanes between Van Ness and Rodman Streets. Perhaps someday they will connect to bike lanes on Connecticut Avenue.
