Soon, people walking to and from Tenleytown on the 3800 block of Albemarle Street won’t be forced to cross to the lone sidewalk, navigate a dirt path, or walk in the street.
A new sidewalk is under construction. Trucks and workmen abound with only one lane of traffic available while they’re at work. The “no parking” signs go through July 20th. Given the progress so far, it appears the work will be done earlier than that.
While it’s encouraging to see this sidewalk going in, remember that it’s one of many sidewalk gaps near transit, business centers and schools that need to be filled.
