On Saturday, May 5, Van Ness Main Street welcomes Cultural Tourism DC and its Around the World Embassy Tour from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Cultural Tourism is a DC nonprofit organization that creates learning experiences focused on heritage, international exchange, and humanities.
Participants travel the world through tours of embassies and missions as they experience the food, art, dance, fashion, music, innovations, and manufactured goods from different countries. More than 40 embassies opened their doors to visitors in 2017, allowing guests to pet alpacas, play with robots, learn indigenous dances, and more! There is no charge to participate in Around the World Embassy Tour and tickets are not required. It is recommended that you take a form of government-issued identification with you. The tour will launch from the UDC Student Center and will feature embassies located in Van Ness, as well as other embassies located in other areas of the city.
Six will have exhibits in UDC Student Center at 4200 Connecticut Avenue, and three others in the Van Ness area will be participating: Malaysia, Bangladesh and Bahrain.
