As far as we can tell, Tesoro Trattoria & Pizzeria on Monday was the first restaurant in Van Ness to reopen its dining room to customers under Phase Two of the District’s reopening plan.
Nail salons and gyms can also reopen in Phase Two, with reduced capacity. The Van Ness Gold’s Gym had – by Monday morning – signage hinting at its reopening preparations.
Businesses reopening in each phase have a lot to do: Installing barriers, rearranging displays, equipment and seating to maximize physical distancing, rehiring and training staff on new protocols, acquiring PPE and other supplies. So it’s no surprise that many are easing into each phase – or continuing as they were.
Politics and Prose is planning to let customers inside beginning July 6th.
Little Red Fox, meanwhile, is keeping its contactless pickup system and place, and keeping its patio and doors closed “for the time being.”
“Thank you for helping us keep each other safe!” the bakery and cafe wrote in its June 18th customer newsletter.
We’re working to keep our compilation of local business operations up to date. New additions include patio dining at Comet Ping Pong, the reopening of Headliner Hair Salon and Cut ‘n Edge barbershop, and the return of Sugar Fox, which is now serving customers on Fridays and Saturdays from a walk-up window.
