Photos: February flowers

February 17, 2020 by FHC 2 Comments

Shortly after we rang in the new year, spring arrived. At least, it felt that way. The National Weather Service reported “much-above-average temperatures” for January, and on February 3rd, it recorded a record high of 67 degrees at Dulles International Airport.

It feels like spring to area plants and trees, too. Some of these are early bloomers that start showing off at the first hint of warmth. And there’s been plenty of that. – Marlene Berlin

These lovely blooming wildflowers are revealing the indomitable spirit of the natural world. A wonderful reminder, thank you.

So grateful for these photos since my partner and I no longer feel safe wandering down into the valley. Thanks!
