The restoration work on the Linnean and Broad Branch streams is complete but for a few finishing touches. Some of that work happened last weekend.
After finding Linnean Avenue at Broad Branch Road closed the night of Saturday, February 7th, I went back late Sunday morning to see what was happening. And a lot was happening.
There I found the contractor on this project, Keith Underwood and his Underwood & Associates crew relaying the pipes that allow Broad Branch Creek to flow under Linnean Avenue.
On Monday they poured concrete and relaid the steel plates that will protect that concrete until the weather is consistently warm enough to pour the top layer of asphalt. Steve Saari, head of the Broad Branch Stream project for DDOE, was there working right along with the rest of Underwood’s crew.
He shared these photos of the concrete work.
