Plans For Intelsat: $50 Million Remodel

June 20, 2013

Intelsat headquartersFor rent. Must see inside.

601W, the new owner of Intelsat’s headquarters, plans to spend $45 million to $50 million to renovate the building, according to the Washington Business Journal. Intelsat moves to Tyson’s Corner next year, and the work on 4000 Connecticut Ave. will begin next summer. WBJ says 601W is eager to show it off to prospective tenants even before the work is done.

[blockquote]”No one’s seen this building for 25 years,” said [broker CBRE’s S. Bruce] Pascal, who has already given several private tours with prospective tenants and hosted more than 160 people at an open house June 18. “I believe the brokerage community is really excited to see a building that the cloth has been taken off for the first time.”[/blockquote]
