The DC Department of Parks and Recreation is hosting a community meeting this Thursday April 5th about plans to renovate Hearst Park and build Ward 3’s first outdoor swimming pool. The meeting is scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m. and will be held at the Hearst School gym (3950 37th Street NW).
The project includes stormwater and field improvements. Three options for a swimming pool were presented at a September 2016 public meeting.
In addition, there’s a ton of background documentation on the DGS project website.
This pool is in the mayor’s proposed budget for FY 2019. DPR needs to hear from residents of Ward 3. Come to the meeting to see the plans for the park and pool and give your input.
