Signs of the times: Open for business in Van Ness and Forest Hills

May 1, 2020 by FHC

April saw the return of Little Red Fox and Laliguras. The month of May begins with Acacia Food and Wine’s reopening.

Acacia is accepting takeout and delivery orders from 3 to 8 p.m. Monday through Saturday from a special menu featuring gourmet burgers, sandwiches and entrees including salmon and fajita bowl salad. There’s a $20 minimum and a $5 fee for delivery within a two-mile radius. Call 202-537-1040 to order.

We haven’t highlighted the chains in Van Ness in our Covid-19 coverage, but they are open for the most part. The Van Ness Starbucks and many others in the region quietly reopened this week for takeout and delivery orders.

And businesses – local, regional and national – are proclaiming their status with banners, hand-drawn posters and chalkboard signs.

Tesoro Trattoria and Pizzeria

Little Red Fox

Sfoglina

ZIPS Dry Cleaners

The UPS Store

Burger King

Potbelly

We’re tracking the changes here as Van Ness and Forest Hills small businesses update their services and status.
