Friendship Place is the premier housing service provider for people experiencing homelessness in our region, including Forest Hills.

Using innovative, customized, and person-focused programs, Friendship Place, located in Tenleytown, empowers participants to rebuild their lives, find homes, get jobs and reconnect with friends, family and the community. Its mission is to empower people experiencing or at risk of homelessness to attain stable housing and rebuild their lives. In 2018, its programs ended or prevented homelessness for 1,640 people. Friendship Place served more than 3,700 individuals in 2018, some of those right here in our neighborhood.

You can support this worthy program by attending this event:

Concert to Benefit Friendship Place
Sunday, June 2nd, 3 to 5 p.m.
Embassy of France
4101 Reservoir Road, NW

Music of Friends is the annual chamber music concert and reception at the French Embassy’s campus. This year it is on Sunday, June 2nd from 3 to 5 p.m. The event features renowned musicians from the National Symphony and the Levine School performing works by Max Bruch, Darius Milhaud, Joaquin Turina, and others. Proceeds from Music of Friends benefit our Ward 3 community organization, Friendship Place.

The Embassy of France graciously hosts these fine musicians year after year. The musicians volunteer their time to benefit our homeless neighbors. While there is no parking on the Embassy grounds, there is street parking nearby and a pay garage across the street. You must reserve your tickets in advance.
