Have you seen this man?
You’ll often see him setting up or using his surveying equipment across from the Park Van Ness constructon site.
David Jonas Bardin says: I’ve wondered what that surveyor was up to. So I asked. He’s Samuel Buckley of Clark Construction.
Twice a week, he double-checks the two buildings on either side of the site as a precaution. Clark wants to make sure they have not shifted – and that all the stabilizing construction below is actually doing its job. Surveying determines exact coordinates of upper corners of the adjacent buildings. Process and equipment are accurate to thousandths of an inch.
So far, no perceptible shifting. That’s as it should be.
