Thai Pad and Bread Furst closing temporarily; Valentine’s Day dinner in the neighborhood

February 5, 2019

UPDATE (already!): Thai Pad said on Instagram last night that it would reopen today.

It can be unsettling to walk up to a local establishment to find a note on the door. Those notes can be bad news.

In this case, the note posted on Thai Pad’s door is about a week-long closure, from Sunday, February 3rd through Saturday, February 9th. According to Van Ness Main Street Executive Director Theresa Cameron, they are getting work done on their venting system.

People who showed up to eat lunch there on Monday had to figure out where else to go. A couple who had come in from Rockville asked an area resident for other options. They were directed to Laliguras.

Bread Furst is undergoing a renovation toward the end of the month, but they don’t want to turn hungry customers away, either. So on Monday, February 25th and Tuesday, February 26th, Bread Furst will serve a special “Renovation Menu” from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Bread Furst is also accepting catering orders at [email protected].

Thai Pad will reopen on Sunday, February 10th, and as for its plans after that? Another note on the door announces a prix fixe Valentine’s Day dinner:
