The new boundaries for ANC 3F are now set and take effect in January. As we noted in the June 16th Connection article, Democracy at Home, “Advisory Neighborhood Commissions deal with issues concerning transportation, recreation, liquor licenses, zoning, economic development, public safety, and sanitation at the neighborhood level.” Our ANC is represented by elected commissioners from seven districts, 3F01-3F07. The boundaries are marked in the maps below.
Each district within an ANC’s borders is made up of about 2,000 residents. The process of redrawing the boundaries began after the 2010 Census. The changes mean we lose Cathy Wiss as ANC 3F06 commissioner, as her home is now on the west side of the new boundary. Who will represent the district come January?
(Editing to add: RunForANC.com is a handy web tool. Plug in your street address and it tells you which single member district you live in, who represents you now, and who is running for election.)
Both maps are below so you can compare them.
