The other most wonderful time of the year: When the farmers markets return

May 29, 2015

Spring brings blossoms, fall is about colorful foliage, and late May heralds the start of one of our favorite times of year: farmers market season!

Last Saturday, the UDC farmers market was back up and running on the wide brick sidewalk outside the David A. Clarke School of Law (4200 Connecticut).

The New Morning Farm resumes its Saturday markets at the Sheridan School (4400 36th Street) tomorrow morning. And its Tuesday market returns- well, this Tuesday, June 2nd.

New Morning Farm is promising to have the first strawberries of the season and lots of greens and fresh-cut herbs. The UDC market‘s goodies include fresh produce, dairy, pies and hot meals.

The UDC farmers market is open Saturdays from 8 a.m.-2 p.m.. New Morning Farm operates its Saturday market from 8 a.m.-1 p.m. (through November, December-March hours are 9 a.m.-1 p.m., and the market is closed from March 21st, 2016 until that June), and the Tuesday evening market goes from 4 p.m.-8 p.m. all summer.
