The shop-local guide to a superior Super Bowl spread

January 27, 2020 by FHC Leave a Comment

Having a few people over on Super Bowl Sunday? A few local places are offering to do the cooking for you.

Sfoglina Van Ness is accepting orders until noon Thursday, January 30th for its Super Bowl package for 6 to 8 guests, which includes meatballs, rigatoni, braised beef short ribs, salad and a dozen cookies for $250. Email aaron.kinslow@fabiotrabocchi.com to order.

Uptown Market offers catering, and on the big day it will have a variety of wings, and house-made cheese dip, tortilla chips, salsa and guacamole. Here’s the order-ahead menu – call or email 202-363-2200 or catering@uptownmarketdc.com to order.

I’m Eddie Cano is “super-sizing” its family supper takeout menu. Place your order at least 48 hours in advance: via imeddiecano.com, email eddie@imeddiecano.com, or call 202-890-4995 between 3 and 5 p.m.

Bread Furst’s Super Bowl menu was still “coming soon” as we wrote this, but we know it’s good for baguettes and bagel chips for dips.

Update: Italian Pizza Kitchen is a later entry to the game, with specials on pizza and wings.

We haven’t seen official Super Bowl menus or specials yet from other Van Ness and Forest Hills businesses, but we have a few suggestions. Laliguras can make samosas for a crowd. Order cupcakes from Sugar Fox. At Calvert Woodley, shop libations and La Cheeserie. With at least 48 hours notice, Little Red Fox can whip up a large order of items from its regular menu. Here’s its catering page. Pizza is a crowd pleaser – get it delivered from Tesoro Trattoria and Pizzeria.

We’ll update the compilation as updates come in. Send tips to info@foresthillsconnection.com or post a comment below.
