There are those who complain that there is not much going on at Van Ness. Well, here are three exciting imminent events to explode this myth.
This Sunday, June 7th from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., head to UDC’s Dennard Plaza to get a Taste of Peru from top chefs giving talks and demonstrating their culinary skills, all to the beat of live Peruvian music. For more, see UDC.edu/news/taste_of_peru_dc. Tickets can be purchased at the event for $20.
Next week – the Maker Faire is coming to UDC. This popular science and innovation event has been held in other cities and states in the past – and even DC. But this event is being billed as the “inaugural National Maker Faire” – next Friday and Saturday, June 12th and 13th from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. both days. This is a free event, but organizers ask that you register at NationalmakerFaire.com.
And Monday, June 15th at 7 p.m., enjoy dinner and a free outdoor concert at the UDC Amphitheater. Your hosts are UDC’s JazzAlive and the Van Ness Vision Committee, which are working with local restaurants ready to box up your takeout orders. Watch this space for more information.
