Van Ness farmers market reopens Saturday, May 20 with ‘Music and More’

The farmers market in front of the UDC law school reopens for the 2017 season this Saturday, May 20th.

“Music and More at the Van Ness Farmers Market” is sponsored by the University of the District of Columbia and Van Ness Main Street. The market is open Saturdays through mid-November from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., at 4340 Connecticut Avenue.

The “More” are several new vendors selling Made in DC wares.

Some of the vendors were also part of the Holiday Pop Up in the same location last December.

    Van Ness Main Street will be continuing “Music and More at the Market” with performances throughout the market season. The May 20th market will feature John Henry, The Guitar Playing Man. All performances are from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
     
    Separately, the Department of Public Works will be at the market from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. each week collecting food waste for composting. This site has more information on what can and can’t be composted, and it offers tips on storing the food scraps.
