Have you ever wondered which storm sewers drain into Soapstone Creek – and where from?
This District Department of the Environment (DDOE) map shows five areas – totaling 404 acres – from which rain is collected by storm sewers and flows to outfalls in Soapstone Valley. Red marks five sewershed boundaries. Green dots are five outfalls – one for each sewershed. Other nearby areas drain directly to Soapstone Creek without collection into sewers.
Every single gutter within each red boundary collects all the rain water and dumps it into an underground sewer network. Every sewer in that network ultimately discharges all the collected water from the entire sewershed area via a single outfall into Soapstone Creek!
