Girl Scouts Nation’s Capital is throwing a block party on Tuesday, August 5th to celebrate a new street sign honoring the organization.
Earlier this year, DC Council members Matthew Frumin and Brianne Nadeau introduced the legislation that symbolically designates the 3000 block of Veazey Terrace as Girl Scouts’ Way. Nadeau is a Gold Star Girl Scout.
The block party to begin with an unveiling at 8:45 a.m., followed by festivities at the Metro plaza next to Giant Food. There will be activity tables and Girl Scout DJs until 10:30 or 11 a.m.
Girl Scouts Nation’s Capital has been headquartered at 4301 Connecticut Avenue since 1998. The block’s ceremonial designation honors the local council’s 113 years of supporting Girl Scout members, leaders and programs in Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia, and the District.
