The annual Green Expo is being held in September at UDC, as it has been for the past five years. But this year’s is a little different.

The organizers have scheduled the Expo for September 11th, a weekday, so it coincides with UDC’s Back to School Barbecue.

You’ll find the exhibitors on Dennard Plaza starting at noon next Thursday. Events geared toward kids start at 3:30 p.m., and the Expo wraps up at 8 p.m.

See GreenLivingDC.org and below for more details:

Save the date and learn all about living green! The 2014 Green Living Expo DC is a free community event held on Thursday, Sept. 11, at the University of the District of Columbia (Van Ness & Connecticut) from 12:00 to 8:00 p.m.

Everyone is welcome to meet the nearly 50 exhibitors who will be on hand to help you discover why D.C. is steadily becoming the model of a sustainable city.

Green businesses, energy-saving devices, green roofs, locally grown food, urban forests, urban biking, and green infrastructure are just a few of the featured topics and services that will be available. You can consult with environmental experts while enjoying demonstrations, live music, and local food.

The event also includes panel discussions, speaker presentations, and an eco-bike tour around the Van Ness campus and the surrounding communities to highlight leading examples of urban sustainability. Kids aged K-12 will be entertained and educated starting at 3:30 p.m. with interactive displays, games, and more provided by exhibitors and UDC’s College of Agriculture, Urban Sustainability and Environmental Sciences (CAUSES).

Hope to see you there!
