Neighbor and ANC 3F commissioner Manolis Priniotakis brought this to our attention: “If you are interested in the possibility of adding solar power to your home’s energy mix, there will be an information session on solar bulk purchasing on Tuesday, September 10th, at 7:30 pm at the Methodist Home (4901 Connecticut Avenue NW).” Details below.
DC Solar United Neighborhoods (DC SUN), a volunteer organization, is coordinating solar bulk purchases as a group citywide. By going solar as a group, consumers can save on the total cost of installation. In addition to the discount from a bulk purchase, Federal tax credits of 30% of system costs are available, including other incentives. The session will cover the ins-and-outs of this arrangement and address the possible savings made possible by bulk purchasing.
A number of households on Nebraska Ave. NW have considered pursuing this approach and wanted to broaden awareness to others in the area. If you are interested in going solar and want to learn more, join us on Tuesday, September 10 at 7:30 pm at the Methodist Home at 4901 Connecticut Avenue NW.
