Okay, I know you have an unwanted or no-longer-needed item or two – a piece of furniture or art in the attic, a kitchen appliance you never use, a bicycle, tricycle, or stroller your children have outgrown. Here’s an opportunity to free yourself of these possessions – and help Forest Hills Connection at the same time!
The Forest Hills Community Yard Sale, a fundraiser for Forest Hills Connection, will be held on Saturday, October 17th from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., with the rain date on the 18th. Here’s how you can participate:
1) Contribute one or two items to a community sale.
2) Have a lot of stuff to get rid of? Set up your own yard sale outside your home.
3) Somewhere in the middle? We’ll have sites where you can set up a table.
4) Go shopping!
Kids can take part, as well, by setting up lemonade and snack stands at their home or at designated sites with their parents. We want this to be fun and a family affair. Also, we welcome musicians (no sound systems), to drop a hat and entertain us.
For those who participate as sellers in the yard sale, we will take care of the advertising, and would appreciate a 10% donation of your sale proceeds. And if you feel more generous, we will not turn down a larger tax-deductible donation.
Drop-off of items will be the day before. We have designated sites at Audubon Terrace and Albemarle and Brandywine Streets so far. Please sign up below. There will be more updates about this event in the Forest Hills Connection, and we will be in touch with further details.
