Forest Hills Boot Camp Not Hibernating This Winter

December 2, 2013

by Barbara D. Lardy

FH_BootcampSomething was missing in Forest Hills… at least it was, until October! That’s when Forest Hills Boot Camp started in the parking lot of the Capital Memorial Church and the Chesapeake Street ball field.

Now there’s no excuse for Forest Hills residents to be unfit. Sessions are twice a week – Tuesday and Thursday – from 6:00 to 7:00 a.m. Many of you have probably seen us gathered in the pre-dawn hours running and stretching or heard us slamming the medicine balls.

Classes are conducted by Brendan and David from DC Health Coaches and they provide just the right balance of flexibility and patience to keep us motivated, while demanding and encouraging us to make sure we are maximizing the benefit from the workout. The committed group of participants who show up week after week are seeing the benefits in increased strength, flexibility and stamina.

Now that the temperatures have dropped, we have moved inside to a church activity room at Capital Memorial; access is from the west side of the parking lot. We welcome more of our friends and neighbors to join us. You’ll be glad you did. That’s Tuesday and Thursday – 6:00 am… hope to see you there.

The Forest Hills boot camp costs $20 per session, but it costs nothing to try it out. The first session is always free. For more information, contact Brendan at [email protected]. You may recall reading about Brendan here.

Wow, Barbara, I’m impressed! No wonder you look so great! You and your bootcamp colleagues will be able to enjoy our new neighborhood bakery, Bread Furst, guilt free!
