The Carnegie Institution at 5251 Broad Branch Road is inviting its neighbors over tonight for some refreshments and a journey to the ocean’s depths.
Tonight at 6:30 p.m., the Geophysical Laboratory’s Dr. Dionysis Foustoukos will present a talk titled “Journey to the Extreme Depths of the Ocean.”
Can’t make it tonight? On Thursday, May 22nd at 6:30 p.m., Dr. Diana Roman will present “The Secret Life of ‘Quiescent Volcanoes.'” See carnegiescience.edu/nls for more information on each lecture.
The Carnegie Institution makes such events free and open to the general public, with refreshments served at 6 p.m., prior to each lecture.
The aim, according to Carnegie, is engage and expose new audiences to “highly specialized scientific knowledge. The events examine the latest scientific discoveries and technologies employed by world-renowned scientists who live and work in your community.”
