Given the choice between spending late August in Washington or in Paris… do we even have to finish this sentence? Paris wins, naturellement.
But if you view Washington through the creative lens of architectural photographer David Luria, it’s easy to pretend.
To David, the National Cathedral resembles Notre Dame.
IM Pei’s glass pyramids at the National Gallery of Art are similar to those at The Louvre.
And other features in our city were inspired by Parisian architecture.
The founder of Washington Photo Safari and Forest Hills neighbor is taking advantage of the similarities for a tour he’s leading on Sunday, August 25th, called “Paris on the Potomac.” Like his other tours, this one comes with instruction on how to take the best architecture and landscape photos in either city. Unlike his other tours, this one ends with coffee and croissants.
