Work by Forest Hills artist Michelle Sloane on view Nov 6-Dec 31

October 12, 2015 by FHC

Forest Hills was settled by scientists but today it’s home to a sizeable artists’ community. We’ve featured many of them in articles and we like to promote their shows (Deborah CC LaCroix’s show begins October 23rd, Robin Rose’s show ends on October 24rd).

Here’s another to add to your calendar:

Michelle Sloane lives in Forest Hills with her husband, Ward. Her work will be on display at Preservation and Framing (4901 Wisconsin Avenue NW, 202.244.2882) from November 6th through December 31st. The exhibit with open with a reception on November 6th from 6 to 9 p.m. Tati Vice and Banafsheh Fatoorechie are also featured artists.

Sloane says she produce her most inspired work when freed from conventional materials. Her paintbrush could be “a branch, a spool of yarn, a bundle of grass, or anything else in arms reach.”

See the results of her experimentation starting in November!
