Neighbors recommend: Lotus Festival at Kenilworth Aquatic Gardens

Some of our neighbors are so taken with Kenilworth Park and Aquatic Gardens in northeast DC that they’ve urged us on three occasions to go take a look. (see Jack Buresh’s invitation, Marlene Berlin’s visit and David Cohen’s breathtaking photos of fall in the gardens)

This weekend presents a special opportunity for a visit: Kenilworth Park’s annual Lotus and Water Lily Festival. Held this Saturday, July 16th between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m., it features activities for all ages: gardening workshops, face painting, lotus tea tasting, painting demonstrations.
