Comet Ping Pong is having some work done

September 3, 2021 by FHC 2 Comments

Comet Ping Pong (5037 Connecticut Avenue) has been closed this week, and for a good reason.

Friends & Fans,
Comet is getting a NEW PIZZA OVEN!
We are temporarily closed and will reopen Sept. 15th!
"Faster & Better for the WIN!!"
Thank you for your support over the last 16 years!

The temporary closure of the restaurant won’t stop Comet from putting on its first indoor concert since March 2020. It’s happening on Sunday, September 5th.

The restaurant is closed for renovations this week, but our show with Worn-Tin and @Ohtis is still ON!! This is our first show back in the indoor venue! Get your tickets here: https://t.co/AQwDV9MhZr pic.twitter.com/4lsTtKF0WI

An FHC reader alerted us in a comment last week that work being done at the now-former Subway at 4401 Connecticut involves gutting the space. (Thanks, Merry!)

The same fate might befall the Wells Fargo at 4302 Connecticut. The branch and its ATM will close for good on Wednesday, October 6th.

We’re keeping an eye on both spaces plus the former 7-Eleven and Sushi Para down the street at 4221 Connecticut. And we’re watching for progress on the Shemali’s Market coming to 4483 Connecticut. Please let us know if you spot anything interesting.

Forest Hills Connection is produced by volunteers, and supported by you. We appreciate your support – financial and otherwise. Here’s how to donate.
