FH Playground Redo To Begin In June

Virginia Marentette, the vice president of Friends of Forest Hills Playground, has an update that will be of interest to many of you, if searches of our site are any indication:

[box]Happy Spring! It feels like spring is finally in the air and that our kids will finally be able to spend some time at the Forest Hills Playground. As I think everyone knows, the park is slated for a major renovation and I thought everyone might appreciate an update:

The District’s Department of General Services is in the process of reviewing contractor bids. It is expected that contractor selection will be done this month. Construction is expected to begin in early June 2014 and be completed by September 30, 2014. Unfortunately, the playground will be closed during the construction phase, but the good news is that the park should be completed in time for us to have our annual Halloween party. There will be a ribbon-cutting ceremony with the mayor, DGS & DPR sometime this fall.
