Give back on MLK Day by giving your unwanted books to WAMU

January 13, 2017

Martin Luther King Day is also the National Day of Service.

One way you can serve locally is to volunteer for a Rock Creek Conservancy park cleanups.

Another is as simple as clearing out books you no longer want or need. WAMU will be happy to take them off your hands.

WAMU’s volunteer program is hosting a used book drive on Monday, January 16th from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. to support the local education nonprofit Turning the Page.

Turning the Page collects and sells donated used books for all ages at its DC stores. It uses the funds for it many programs.

WAMU is located at 4401 Connecticut Avenue, across Windom Place from Calvert Woodley Wines and Spirits.

If you have a carload of books to give, WAMU volunteers will be unloaded books from cars into carts. There will be signs to specify the drop off area.
