Meet your ANC candidate: David Donaldson, 3F02

July 1, 2015

David Donaldson is one of two candidates running for the late Karen Perry’s seat on ANC 3F. The other, Shirley Adelstein has introduced herself. Now, here’s the statement Donaldson submitted to Forest Hills Connection:

David DonaldsonI am Dave Donaldson and I am an ANC3F02 Single Member Candidate for the neighborhood that I made home over 15 years ago. I have, over the past 8 years, worked with my friend and ally Karen Perry on many projects and activities that have had immediate and long term impacts on our diverse and growing community.

I represent our Precinct 34 on the Ward 3 Democratic Committee and have for 9 years. Most of them on the Executive Committee and engaging in many Ward, Precinct, and DC-wide projects.

I was Re-elected in last years April Primary Election as an At-Large Committeeman on the DC Democratic Committee by voters in our Precinct 34 and precincts throughout our Great District of Columbia. As a representative elected to both these committees, I am always a representative of Precinct 34.

Many of you know me and many of you do not. I have always worked for our interests in our neighborhood. Whether it was theft, robbery, ambulatory response, fires, parking, UDC Student Union Plans and later the ground breaking and building, The service station to a Walgreens, TENAC meetings, the Metro Canopies to the Van Ness St. proposed 3 yr. repair project, tree and flower planting, school beautification I was there. Many of the time with Karen Perry and Brian Lederer, right with us. I have developed a trusted working relationship with our DC Council to help us move forward and our local businesses and embassies.

This is our neighborhood. We have a lot we need to get done and not be taken granted. In the next week, I’ll be setting up meet and greets and open meetings in our Van Ness and Upton resident communities. I want to hear you voice the concerns and issues we have and I want share my views and vision with yours.

I need your help and your Vote for Dave Donaldson. Please feel free to reach me at 202-460-5140 or [email protected].

I am pleased to see my neighbor, Dave, run for the late Karen Perry’s seat on ANC 3F! I served with Dave on the Ward Three Democrats and always appreciated his support of making our neighborhood more accessible and accommodating to individuals with disabilities, DC residents and visitors alike. I encourage you to vote for Dave Donaldson. When my work and life became too busy to serve on W3D and I had to step down as Precinct 34 Captain, I was relieved knowing that Dave continues to serve, in his loud and assertive style. Whether working the polls, going door-to-door for candidates, or stepping up at meetings to speak for those who are un or under represented, Dave is an untiring advocate for our neighborhood.

BTW, I’ve not been to Epicurean and am unfamiliar with their services, I enjoy our Acacia Wine Bistro, where you may bump into Dave and learn more about him in person.
