Metro hosting open house Wed. June 20 on L1 and L2 bus route proposals

June 14, 2018 by FHC

As we’ve mentioned, Metro representatives will be at ANC 3F’s June 19th meeting to discuss proposed changes to the L1 and L2 bus lines. If you can’t make that meeting, there will be another chance to ask questions and give your comments on Wednesday, June 20th.

From 6 to 8 p.m., Metro is hosting an open house at the UDC Law Library at 4340 Connecticut, room 515.

According to Metro’s proposals, the weekday L1 and L2 routes would be consolidated into one, increasing service on the L2 line and effectively eliminating the L1 route. On weekends, buses would run every 20 minutes between Chevy Chase Circle and Woodley Park, but the full L2 route – continuing through to Adams Morgan, Dupont Circle and Farragut North – would run only once per hour in each direction. Another proposal removes some bus stops to speed up service.

Some of the L1 and L2 bus stops that would be eliminated under Metro’s plan. Here’s a map of the rest.

Here, Metro provides more details on the proposals, the community meeting on June 20th and a June 21st meeting on proposed changes to the 42 and 43 bus lines.
