Restaurants of Van Ness/Forest Hills: A list

Ten years ago, a neighbor went for a walk. He got some exercise. And Forest Hills Connection got our first local restaurant listings.

In 2013, Connection contributor David Bardin created the very first version of this list of Connecticut Avenue restaurants between Van Ness Street and Nebraska Avenue. What makes the list unique is the way David organized it: by the route of his 2013 walk. He went north along the west side of Connecticut, and south along the east side.

We found it so useful that we link to it from our home page (under the “Local Links” sidebar) and we update it whenever an eatery closes or opens. The latest version includes Call Your Mother at 5035 Connecticut Avenue (replacing Little Red Fox), and Shemali’s at 4483 Connecticut, which we somehow forgot to add during the year the market’s Van Ness location has been open! You can help out by checking out the list and letting us know if anything else should be there.
