Restaurants in Van Ness/Forest Hills

November 22, 2013 by FHC

FHC contributor David Bardin took a walk one day in October 2013. And it resulted in a comprehensive list of restaurants along the Van Ness/Forest Hills stretch of Connecticut Avenue.

The list below is organized not alphabetically, but geographically. More specifically, it’s the route David took when he compiled it for us. He started on the west side of Connecticut Avenue on Van Ness Street, walked north to Nebraska, and looped back to Van Ness down the east side.

We try to keep this list up to date as new restaurants open and existing restaurants close. So please peruse the culinary options below, and let us know in the comments if you have any additions or corrections.

Any idea what is planned for the street-level, west side, of Connecticut Avenue between Veazey Terrace and Windom? Now that the two restaurants (Epicurean and Charlie Chang’s) are gone, I’d like to see a Nando’s, Pret a Manger, or a Chop’d Salad. Oh…and I still miss the Pier I–it’s welcome back anytime–and the Walgreen’s. Thanks!
