Our favorite fictional neighbors are taking a break from their weekly adventures – for health reasons.
Anthony Dobranski has spent months researching and weeks writing The Scientists and the Spy, the serial historical novel being published here week by week. But a health setback is forcing him to take a mid-summer break. He writes:
To my dear readers –
Just after the July 4th holiday, I developed a severe intestinal infection. The stress from the infection then triggered an adrenaline surge that partly disabled my heart’s left ventricle, a myopathy known as “broken-heart syndrome.”
The good news is I suffered no tissue damage, and over time my heart will fully heal. I am however very weak, and I obviously have a course of cardiac therapy ahead. This will affect my writing and the serial schedule – I already lost this past week, and I won’t make much progress in the week to come. I promise I will keep working, as much as I can, but it will be a little while until the next chapter.
Please forgive me for the holdup, and thanks for your patience. – AD
Tony, all we ask is that you concentrate on getting better. We’ll get our Enos and Dorothy fix by re-reading Chapters 1-10 (also in e-book form!), and we’ll look forward to your return to full health and fine writing form!
