WAMU started moving into their new quarters at 4401 Connecticut Avenue last September after more than a year of getting the building ready.
It is a great addition to the neighborhood and gives us a ringside seat into the world of radio news broadcasting. A street-level window provides a view into one of their studios, where passers-by can watch live broadcasts of their favorite shows, like Diane Rehm and Kojo Nnamdi.
Now, instead of looking in from the outside, we are invited to see the new WAMU headquarters from the inside. WAMU is hosting an open house on Saturday, February 1st. Here are the details:

Just checking that this event is still on the schedule for Saturday in the early afternoon. Thank you.

WAMU hasn’t told us otherwise, so I’m planning to stop by a little after noon. It’ll be interesting to see the operation from the inside.

You might be a couple of hours early Tracy, the WAMU website says it’s between 2 and 4 p.m.

Bob, thanks very much for your comment! I called WAMU and they say that they are basically staggering the start times to keep the crowds manageable. They’re publicizing the 2-4 p.m. open house, but partners and neighbors are invited to stop by between noon-2 p.m.
