Invasive Species Removal @ Politics & Prose/Broad Branch

February 18 @ 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm

Sunday, Feb. 18, 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.
Broad Branch – Politics & Prose

Volunteers with the National Park Service and Rock Creek Park Weed Warriors have begun working in the Rock Creek Park area of Broad Branch, in and below the parking lot behind Politics & Prose at 5015 Connecticut Ave., NW, removing trash and invasive plant. This restoration effort will continue with scheduled events in the coming year and is sponsored by The National Park Service and Rock Creek Conservancy. This area has long been a location for illegal dumping and has regularly received wind and waterborne trash from the surrounding commercial and residential area.

We will supply gloves, bags, tools and detailed instructions. Your safety is our first concern. Please dress appropriately for the weather – study shoes, long pants and shirts are a must for working in natural areas. Bring your own gloves and a by-pass pruner if you wish. Limited parking available behind Politics & Prose, otherwise park on 36th, Garrison, or Fessenden Sts.

Sign up online at https://secure.everyaction.com/axCiKI1D7ECBTrT4DWes9w2, or on the day in the parking lot behind Politics & Prose.
