Feed The Family Pantry (a project with Ward 3 Mutual Aid) opens Sundays from 1 to 4 p.m. beginning May 16. The location behind the former Walgreens at 4225 Connecticut Avenue will give out fresh produce and household cleaning items. It is seeking cleaning items in its donation drive from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. May 8 and 9.
They will accept: unopened containers of dish and laundry detergent, bleach, cleanser, Lysol, Pine sol, disinfectants, Windex, sponges, rubber gloves, scrubbers, white vinegar, baking soda – all the things you use to keep your homes clean. Donations of high-quality masks and other personal protective equipment are welcome, as well as toilet paper, tissues, aluminum foil and plastic bags.
Please bring your donations to the loading dock at the back of the building in the alley between Veazey and Van Ness off Connecticut Avenue. Volunteers will be on hand to unload your car.
