Exploring the Sky @ Rock Creek Park

Since 1948, Rock Creek Park has partnered with the National Capital Astronomers to host this evening stargazing program. Join them to see galaxies, nebula, planets and other deep space objects.
Telescope viewing begins at the scheduled time. Arrive an hour earlier to see a free planetarium program at the Rock Creek Nature Center. This portion of the program will happen regardless of weather conditions. In the event of cloud cover or other inclement weather, the outdoor portion will be cancelled.
Parking is available at Picnic Grove #13 for the telescope portion of the program. Parking will also be available at the Nature Center with a short walk over slightly rugged terrain to get to the telescopes.
This event is appropriate for those audience members ages 6 and up. It is free to attend.
