Celebrate the season at the first annual Tenley WinterFest! Bring the whole family for a day of holiday festivity in our community. No Rockville Pike, no Beltway, no shopping malls! Come walk through Tenleytown in search of the 13 hidden Tenley Yetis, enjoy stories and crafts at the library, music performances outside Middle C and at the library and Janney. Visit the art exhibit and tour the wellness center at Iona. At Janney, explore the Winter Garden of Lights and the outdoor train exhibit, enjoy hot roasted chestnuts and cocoa, and grab a bite for dinner at the Albemarle entrance outdoor grill. Visit with friends and neighbors old and new, while shopping for unique handmade items and supporting entrepreneurs of all ages at the craft market.
At Janney Elementary (2-6pm):
craft market with offerings from students, families, and professional vendors
More than 50 vendors offering jewelry, hand-painted textiles, bags and beaded items from West Africa, hats, knitted and crocheted items, holiday ornaments and decorations, toys, henna tattoos, hair wraps, spin art, sweets and treats of every kind, and more!

Find the Tenley Yetis! Scavenger hunt for little abominable snow monsters runs Dec. 1-8, for all ages, at 13 walkable locations along Wisconsin Avenue. On Dec 8 between 2-5pm, turn in a completed card for free hot chocolate (seven stamps) and prize (all 13 stamps) while supplies last.
Friendship Terrace Retirement Community (4201 Butterworth Pl NW): Holiday Open House with refreshments, gift market, and tours.
Middle C Music: 15-minute music performances in front of the store, on the hour from 2-6pm Dec. 8. Performers for Tenley WinterFest are:

On the day of WinterFest, Whole Foods Market is hosting our December Entertaining Event from 12pm-2pm. Customers can sample delicious holiday products throughout the store including roast duck, holiday stuffed brie, hot apple cider, fresh clementines and homemade gingerbread. Get inspired by our recycled Christmas tree and decorations or choose your own fresh tree from our locally grown Fraser Firs. Pick up a holiday menu and gift giving guide while you are in and let us make your December more delicious!
