Meet the Candidates: William Sittig for ANC 3F06

October 4, 2018

The November 6th ballot includes ANC commissioners. Forest Hills Connection has invited the candidates for ANC 3F to tell us about themselves and how they wish to serve the neighborhood. The candidates for ANC 3F02 introduced themselves yesterday.

ANC 3F06 is the other single member district with a contested race. The candidates are Monika Nemeth and William (Bill) Sittig. Here is Nemeth’s statement. Sittig is running for re-election. Here’s his statement:

Since my election last November as commissioner representing ANC3F06 it has been my distinct pleasure to meet many of the district’s residents and to work with them to resolve issues affecting our neighborhood.

William Sittig

Among the actions I have initiated are the completion of extensive road repairs on 36th St. and Reno Rd.; obtaining proper parking signage on Ellicott St. to allow the drop-off of nursery school children; having the city arborists address issues regarding the planting of new trees and the removal of dead ones; obtaining fence repairs and trash removals on commercial properties; arranging police-neighborhood meetings regarding break-ins and robberies; assisting Murch Elementary School to obtain permits, etc., during its renovation; and working with a local entrepreneur to obtain the necessary licenses to open a new business.

In addition, I have worked with my ANC colleagues to develop positions on city issues, including legislation regulating the noise from leaf blowers; controlling Connecticut Ave. traffic; fostering development and beautification of the Connecticut Ave./Van Ness commercial area; and regulating student parking near UDC.

I presently maintain contact with my district though a monthly email to keep residents informed of ANC activities and other local events and issues. For residents of ANC3F06 who do not presently receive my messages but would like to be included on my email list, please send your name, street address and email address to [email protected].

I hope I have earned your trust and, if re-elected, I look forward to serving you for the next two years.
