Work has begun on the new sidewalk going in on the north side of Brandywine, between 30th and 32nd Streets. See the photos below:
Thick vegetation has been cleared away at 32nd and Brandywine.
No parking! This area, between 30st and 31st Streets, is being prepped for the new sidewalks.
Soon, pedestrians on this stretch of Brandywine will have a place to walk, other than the street.

This work fills in one sidewalk gap in the neighborhood, but many remain. This segment of a 2008 DDOT map of sidewalk gaps shows which Forest Hills streets have no sidewalks (in red) or have a sidewalk on one side of the street only (in yellow).

Great to have a safer way of getting to the playground soon!

Congratulations to Marlene Berlin, an indefatigable lobbyist for pedestrian and animal safety. I am going to feel much safer on Brandywine.
