Photos: Celebrating Dr. Seuss’s birthday at Soapstone Market

March 6, 2017

Look at me! Look at me! Look at me NOW!
It is fun to have fun
But you have to know how.

Soapstone Market and about a hundred guests celebrated Dr. Seuss’s birthday on Saturday, and it looks like they know how to have fun.

“It was hopping!” says Tracy Stannard, the market’s co-owner. “Hopping on Pop!” Stannard and Broad Branch Market employee Ksenia Dombo read to the kids.

Birthday celebrations require cake, of course. Stannard says they gave out 95 cupcakes.

Soapstone Market co-owner John Fielding (right) serves customers.

Soapstone Market, at 4465 Connecticut Avenue, hosts a story circle on Saturdays at 10 a.m.
